Welcome to Luxe Cake Decorating!
Have you always wanted to learn how to decorate beautiful cakes from scratch? Then this series is for you. We are offering this amazing 6 part series that will take you to the next level in cake decorating. Natalia is a wonderful teacher and her passion is baking! She will walk you through all the steps to decorate beautiful cakes. Most classes you will have a beautiful cake to take home! Your friends won’t believe it is home-made!
LEVEL 1 – DAY 1 “Basics of Cake Decorating”
Friday September 21 1030-130
In this (3) hour class you will learn the 5 steps on how to prepare and how to decorate a cake.
– How to make the proper Buttercream Icing using a specific recipe
– How to make the right consistency of icing
– How to color the icing
– How to prepare a decorating bag
– Bag position and angle
– How to level a cake
– How to divide the cake into layers
– How to put a filling in between layers
– How to ice a cake with a spatula
Students will decorate a cake using the pattern transfer technique and piping techniques (star, dot, elongate shape, zigzag, shell). They will also learn how to make buttercream roses.
Students will go home with a beautiful decorated cake, so PLEASE BRING A CAKE BOX OR CARRIER TO THE CLASS.
LEVEL 1 – DAY 2 “Basics of Cake Decorating”
Friday September 28 1030-130
In this (3) hour class students will learn how to decorate cupcakes using a piping technique. You will learn:
– How to bake the cupcakes
– How to ice a cupcake
– How to put a filling inside the cupcake
– Piping techniques: Star, Rosette, Dot, Pulled Dot, Shell, Drop Flowers, Way Line, Swirls, Fill In, Zigzag, Leaves, Grass, Bead, Flowers (daisy and sunflower), Easy Ruffle.
Students will go home with 12 cupcakes, so PLEASE BRING A CAKE BOX OR CARRIER TO THE CLASS.
LEVEL 2 – DAY 1 “Working with Royal Icing”
Friday October 5 1030-130
In this (3) hour class students will learn:
– Color principles
– Importance of cake design
– How to make Royal icing
– How to color Royal Icing
– Working with the right consistency
– Petal technique
– Brush embroidery technique
– We are going to make sugar flowers like the: rose, rosebud, half rose, violet leaf, violet, pansy, lily and the poinsettia.
Students will go home with the flowers for use in the next class, so PLEASE BRING A LARGE FLAT CONTAINER.
LEVEL 2 – DAY 2 “Working with Royal Icing”
Friday October 12 1030-130
In this (3) hour class students will learn:
– Basket-weave technique with buttercream
– Piping techniques: reverse shell, rope
– Principles of Flower Cake Design (using the flowers made in the previous class)
Students will go home with a beautiful decorated cake, so PLEASE BRING A CAKE BOX OR CARRIER TO THE CLASS.
LEVEL 3 – DAY 1 “Basics of Fondant and Fondant/Gum Paste Flowers”
Friday October 19 1030-130
In this (3) hour class students will learn:
– Fondant and Gum Paste 101
– Tinting Fondant and Gum Paste
– Rolling out Fondant and Gum Paste
– Making Fondant/Gum Paste Flowers: rose, mum, carnation, leaves, calla lily and daisy
– Handing and storing Fondant and Gum Paste
Students will go home with the flowers for use in the next class, so PLEASE BRING A LARGE FLAT CONTAINER.
LEVEL 3 – DAY 2 “Basics of Fondant and Fondant/Gum Paste Flowers”
Friday October 26 1030-130
In this (3) hour class students will learn:
– How to cover a cake with Fondant
– How to make different borders: ball, rope, etc
– How to make cut outs, overlays and inlays
– Floral cake Design
Students will go home with a beautiful decorated cake, so PLEASE BRING A CAKE BOX OR CARRIER TO THE CLASS.
