- Blini with Buttermilk Crème Fraîche and Smoked Trout Mousse – Blini are buckwheat crèpes; serve with or without mousse but the home-made crème is worth it! (really the buttermilk crème is delish!)
- Borscht– like a great minestrone, rich with vegetables, this one is vegetarian and of course served with Beer Bread
- Cabbage Rolls and Pierogi- Fermented! It’s the new thing, great for us- always has been! Cabbage rolls with Kissel’s sour cabbage, pickled chiles, tomato sauce and that rice and meat stuffing! Pierogi are a cousin to ravioli and gnocchi- this version is a tender potato dough, fillings as you like, and then there’s the caramelised onions….
- Strudel- yes the dough, the apple and everything. Short cuts of course.
