Join our special guest Chef Paul, former sous chef at a traditional Chinese restaurant, for a live demo featuring bold, flavorful dishes that bridge tradition and taste. In this class, Chef Paul will guide you through one of his signature dishes – silky, melt-in-your-mouth Dong Po Pork while sharing personal experiences, and expert techniques passed down through generations.
From mastering wok fire to recreating dishes like Yin Yang Soup, Sizzling Fried Rice, and Tong But Luck, this demo brings restaurant-quality Chinese cuisine straight to your kitchen.
MENU:
- Yin Yang Duo-Tone Soup – A Summer Favorite: Tomato and spinach swirl together in a beautifully balanced flavorful chicken broth – simple, healthy, and satisfying.
- Braised Pork Belly with Bokchoi (Dong Po Pork): Indulge in rich, melt-in-your-mouth Braised Pork Belly with Bok Choi, our special guest Chef Paul’s signature dish inspired by his ancestor – the famed poet and gourmand Su Dongpo. Slow-braised in soy, Shaoxing wine, and a secret blend of spices, the pork is tender and deeply flavorful, with silky fat that’s luscious yet never greasy.
- Sizzling Beef & Veggie Fried Rice: Wok-tossed to perfection with flavorful beef and mixed vegetables – served sizzling hot for bold flavor in every bite.
- Glutinous Rice Ball Dessert (“Tong But Luck” in Cantonese): A traditional Cantonese dessert of chewy rice balls in sweet syrup, symbolizing unity and good fortune.

Gift cards payments done by phone at 604-428-3700 or pay with credit card and reimburse the night of the class. Payment is required to secure your space. No seats can be held. Once booked all class cancelations receive store credit, however ABSOLUTELY NO CREDIT GIVEN WITHIN 72 HOURS OF CLASS STARTING. Options are to gift your ticket and send someone in your place, or forfeit your seat and we will send the recipes. Please respect this policy and do not call us to ask for a credit within this time-frame. We do not make exceptions.
Free parking opens up on Hastings at 6pm. Please arrive no earlier than this time.
