Teens Cook! Five Day Half-Day Summer Cooking Series with Instructor Latha! Age 12-16

August 11 @ 10:30 am - August 15 @ 1:30 pm

If you have a young aspiring chef in your household they will enjoy this series of cooking and learning! These classes focus on ingredients and techniques and teach the fundamentals and basics to equip them with skills for life. Students will make their meal together, set their own place setting, and eat together when everything is ready. Then they will clean their stations and make sure they leave the kitchen tidy. This class will teach them how to make fabulous fare on their own!

Everything they need to prepare the goods will be provided: apron, cutting boards, mixing bowls, recipes and assistance. Most importantly, this class will be fun!

All recipes are nut-free, however Posh Pantry is not a nut-free facility.

Monday

Travel to Vietnam

  • Fresh Spring Rolls with 2 Dipping Sauces
  • Grilled Lemongrass Chicken served on fragrant Jasmine Rice and topped with a Fried Egg
  • Tapioca Pudding with Melon

Tuesday

Vive La France

  • Ratatouille -a delicious dish of finely sliced stewed vegetables. Learn how to safely use a mandolin to get delicate slices of vegetables used to make this iconic dish.
  • Salmon En Papillote – Salmon cooked in parchment parcels. The perfect way to get moist and delicious salmon steaks.
  • Summer Fruit Tart – Learn how to prepare and blind bake a tart shell. Students will also learn how to make the custard filling and arrange seasonal fruit to finish off this masterpiece

Wednesday

La Cucina Italiana

  • Rosemary and Olive Focaccia served with Aged Balsamic and Olive Oil. Learn the techniques of bread dough making.
  • Creamy Mushroom Risotto with Chicken Scaloppine.
  • Profiteroles – also known as Cream Puffs. Learn the techniques of making successful Choux Pastry. Students will also learn how to make a smooth pastry cream filling.

Thursday

A Grand Brunch

  • Fruit and Granola Parfait – learn how to make your own Home Made Granola.
  • Eggs Benedict –  Perfectly Poached Eggs with Hollandaise Sauce and Canadian Bacon, served on English Muffins.
  • Magic Butterfly Pea Flower Lemonade – this showstopper should be on every Summer Menu! A colour changing drink that is equally pretty as it is tasty!
  • Mini Apple Galette – a sweet way to end brunch!

Friday

Grilling Day

  • Home Made Pita with Tzatziki – these are the best Pitas and you will never go back to store bought ones!
  • Chicken Souvlaki –  Grilled Juicy Chicken Skewers that will become your summer BBQ staple.
  • Roasted Lemon Potatoes – the perfect accompaniment to any Greek Meal.
  • Passionfruit Ice Cream with Coconut Crisps

Online payment by PayPal or credit card.  Gift cards payments done by phone at 604-428-3700 or pay with credit card and reimburse the night of the class.  Payment is required to secure your space. No seats can be held.   Once booked all class cancelations receive store credit, however ABSOLUTELY NO CREDIT GIVEN WITHIN 72 HOURS OF CLASS STARTING. Options are to gift your ticket and send someone in your place, or forfeit your seat and we will send the recipes. Please respect this policy and do not call us to ask for a credit within this time-frame. We do not make exceptions.
